LO1 Task 3 How social medias are used for advertisment and promotion

Twitter

A) The advertising on Twitter isn't as bold as other social media, they disguise the adverts as posts on the news feed. These adverts display a promoted sign which informs the user that that post is in fact an advertisement. These ads often work on clicks, every 100 clicks pays twitter a designated sum.

B) Content on twitter is often made viral via the use of the retweet and favorite features. The retweet feature essentially copies and shares someones elses' post to the users feed to be shared with their followers. The favorite feature is a way of a user expressing how much they like the post. These features help make a post popular and viral.

C) If the user appreciates another users post they use the favorite and retweet features. If they wish to respond to the post they can use the reply feature which allows the user to write a response to the tweet. The user base usually uses the reply feature as a way to review a post.

Instagram

A) The advertising on Instagram is similar to twitter in that they have promoted posts. These posts are called sponsored posts and instead of being pay per click, the advert leads the user directly to the product page. These sponsored posts are subtly placed so as to not force the user into the promotion.

B) Content on Instgram has a viral effect when it is liked or shared by another user. The like feature makes it so the users followers see posts they liked on there activity page. The share feature is used to spread a post making it more viral.

C) The reply feature is similar to that of twitters. The user can reply to a post to comment on it and give it more popularity. This helps grow a post and these posts can get on the explore page for others to see. This comment feature is a way to review a post.

Linked In

A) Linked In uses advertising is a much bolder way to Twitter and Instagram. The adverts are places on the side bar in order to get maximum viewership from users. These ads are pay per click like Twitter, this seems to be the most profitable way for social media to advertise as many users will click on an advertise mistakenly.

B) Content doesn't often become viral on Linked In because of the nature behind the social network being business orientated. However there are features in place to support this typical social networking viral marketing. These features are like and share features. The like features much like Instagram shows the users friends what they liked making a post more viral. The share feature is also similar to instagrams share feature, this feature is used to export the post to another social media , website or email.

C) Linked In has a comment system in place so that  users can reply to posts, this is similar to both Twitter and Instagram. This feature is useful for reviewing posts, whilst also showing opinionated views from other users. The comment feature also helps the user to connect with more users.
